Based in Manchester (UK), Darren is a composer for Film and TV. His music can be heard on many TV shows across the globe. Initially classically trained, then switching to the dark side of jazz as a teenager, he has had a career that spans almost 30 years as a professional musician. These days you are most likely to find him working from his home recording space, turning out many tracks on a daily basis for various production companies, music libraries and supervisors.
Darren's styles of music range from full orchestral works, drama tension cues, epic trailers, dramedy, jazz, funk, latin and pop and he has composed hundreds of titles for TV across all of these genres.
Darren studied music at Leeds College of Music and later went on to complete a masters degree in music education and research. He has worked and played with many musicians, leading his own bands and as a sideman. Alongside his composing and production schedule, he still mentors young jazz musicians.
